How to Add an Extra Windows User on a Windows Server

Step-by-Step Instructions

<ol><li>Press Windows Key + R to open the Run dialog.</li><li>Type lusrmgr.msc and press Enter to open Local Users and Groups.</li><li>Right-click the Users folder and select New User.</li><li>Enter a username and password.</li><li>Uncheck "User must change password at next logon"; recommended to check "Password never expires".</li><li>Click Create.</li><li>In Settings > System > Remote Desktop, click "Select users that can remotely access this PC".</li><li>Add the username, click Check Names, then OK twice.</li></ol>

Warning

Give the new user only the permissions they need. Adding users to Remote Desktop grants desktop-level access.
