Installing a dedicated server for Farming Simulator 2022

Overview

A dedicated server lets players connect and play without a player hosting the game.

Requirements

Windows Server 2016/2019, 64-bit, at least 4x 2.4GHz CPU, 2GB RAM, 6GB free disk (SSD preferred), a public IPv4 address and an own (non-Steam) GameLicense. A GPU or sound card is not required.

Step-by-Step Instructions

<ol><li>Purchase the digital (non-Steam) version and download it using the GameKey from the Giants email.</li><li>RDP into the server and run the downloaded Setup.exe.</li><li>Accept the terms and install (the Standard install is usually enough).</li><li>Launch the game once just to enter the key (ignore GPU errors - a GPU is not needed).</li><li>Set or read the login credentials in dedicatedServer.xml.</li><li>Run dedicatedServer.exe and open https://SERVER-IP:8080 to configure the server via the web interface.</li></ol>

Code / Configuration

<pre><code># dedicatedServer.xml default location C:\Program Files (x86)\Farming Simulator 2022\dedicatedServer.xml</code></pre>

Warning

The more mods or DLCs you add, the more resources the server needs. Monitor RAM and disk usage.
